Farmers may be a bit wary about this treatment because, at first, the bedding seems less “clean”, especially if more than 15 kg of straw is used per cow, but the results are clearly visible and the cows are as clean as before. The manure is more compact and the quantity of humus is greater. I have prolonged the life of the bedding from 15 days to six weeks. I used to clean out every 15 days as the bedding became too thick and heated up a lot and I also had many cases of mastitis. After using SOP C COW, I have had much fewer cases of mastitis and I was surprised to see that there is much less ammonia and fewer flies than the previous year.
 

When I remove the bedding, I leave a part of the old bedding which I use as a base for the new. I only use one bale of straw, instead of 4. Humus has an incredible absorption capacity and the day after cleaning out, the cows are as comfortable as they were before.

I have made great savings in straw this year. I must say that I would now be quite worried about stopping using SOP. It has saved me time, reduced my problems and has resulted in good savings."
